Rujum is a personalized outdoors activity app, born from the need to reconnect with nature during the Covid-19 pandemic. It emerged as a graduation project at Bezalel Academy and evolved alongside my journey as a designer, as a side project. Rujum aims to encourage outdoor exploration post-lockdown.
While developing Rujum Version 0.1, I examined existing outdoor/travel platforms. Research revealed a saturated market, emphasizing the importance of offering something unique to differentiate ourselves and stand out.

“My friends and I have this phrase called “Grand-Slam” for a day when we visited 3 different kinds of water sources - the poll, a fountain and the beach”.
With no CTA on most screens it was hard to get a sense of flow in the app. The main screens at the app had few options for the users to interact with.
Completing a challenge is a complicated task which requires user's time and focus. During user testing, users said the reward for their effort felt disappointing.
Research showed the importance of a social aspect among travelers. Yet, the place for social interactions in the app was unclear.
Phrasing How Might We questions helped me to keep an open mind during brainstorm during the ideation phase.

After prioritizing UX tasks, I choose to focus on 2 main flows:
Trail search - attempting to make it as easy and intuitive as possible. Challenge completion - adding juice and increasing certainty along the way.
